Gasket Solutions can manufacture practically any shape decompression or head saver shim.
 

• Head shims are used where excessive material has been machined off the block or head
• Decompression shims are generally required when a turbo charger has been fitted to a normally aspirated engine.
• A range of thicknesses generally up to 3mm thick can be manufactured, thicker shims are available on application
   

A non-hardening sealant will need to be used when using a shim.  This is generally applied between the shim and the block, with the head gasket fitted as per car manufacturers instructions. Gasket Solutions can supply sealant on request.

Note: The head gasket will need to be re-torqued after the engine has been run at normal running temperature for 1 hour approx.
